Why did the Central Wisconsin State Fair cancel?
Why did the Central Wisconsin State Fair cancel?
For several months the Central Wisconsin State Fair Board of Directors and staff have been working tirelessly analyzing all facets of this annual event, in hopes of being able to host the Fair this year.
After extensive input from the Wood County Health Department, CWSF Board members, staff, volunteers, superintendents, and Junior Fair Board members, Executive Director Dale Christiansen announced that for the safety of fair-goers, staff, vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, suppliers and the broader communities, 2020 Central Wisconsin State Fair has been canceled.
The Central Wisconsin State Fair has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 data from local, state, and federal health officials during this time. Considering the Central Wisconsin State Fair is one of the largest event in Wood County, this weighed heavily into the decision to cancel the 2020 Fair.
