A voice for youth, the fair, and the community. The Central Wisconsin State Fair office staff, fair board, and junior fair board extend their deepest sympathies to the Lang family. Jerry Lang was a titan of the CWSF. His dedication and commitment to the fair are unmatched. Jerry’s involvement with the CWSF traces back to his days as a youth, and showing his Guernsey cattle in the round barn and parading them in front of the grandstand. His commitment extended into his adult life as he championed many projects, from raising funds for the Junior Fair Expo Building, and a founding charter member of the CWSF Junior Fair, to leading various Round Barn renovations, and donating and raising funds for the Jer Lang Show Palace. Jerry’s 60+ year commitment to the CWSF will be a long-lasting legacy.
One thing that surpassed Jerry’s dedication to the fair, was his dedication to the youth of Wood County. His 40+ year involvement with the Junior Dairy Project has left a massive impact on generations of not only Wood County dairy youth, but also Wood County 4-H members. As the longest-serving 4-H leader in the county, Jerry has impacted youth from all over Wood County and from various backgrounds. To him, it did not matter where you came from, his commitment to all youth will be greatly missed.
Jerry will be greatly missed at the Central Wisconsin Fair. The impact that he has made both on the CWSF and the Marshfield community will be a lasting legacy for generations to come. The entire Lang family will be all of our thoughts and prayers and we send our deepest condolences.
