Open Speed Show

Date: Saturday, August 24th
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Equine Area (Horse Arena)
Details: Gymkhana – pole bending, plug race, flag race, barrel race, & the crazy 8.
Viewer Prices: Free with gate admission
Participant Prices: Cost includes $6 per class, $10 per jackpot class, $10 stall use, $5 practice run fees due at the gate.
Classes: PeeWee is 9 and under, Youth is 10-13, Junior is 14-17, Senior is 18-34, and Senior/Senior is 35 & over.

Open Class Llama Judging

Date/Time: Saturday, August 24th at 5:00 PM & Sunday, August 25th at 8:00 AM & 3:00 PM.
Location: Jer Lang Show Palace

Costume Contest: The Costume Contest features llamas and their exhibitors dressed in costumes, judged on originality, and how well the costumes go together. The contest starts at 8:00 AM.
Obstacle Course: The Obstacle Course starts after the costume contest where llamas compete against each other in a series of obstacles of varying complexity.
Llama Limbo/Leap: The Llama Limbo/Leap starts after the Obstacle Course where llamas duck and bend under a pole without touching it or the ground and then leap over the pole.

Market Animal Sale

Date: Wednesday, August 21st, 2019
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Jer Lang Show Palace

This auction is the result of months of hard work for Wood County 4-H and FFA members. The livestock sale offers a unique opportunity for youth to market their animals and to then expand their future livestock projects or assist with future endeavors.
Buyers receive a complimentary photograph of the member and animal to hang at their place of business. Grand and Reserve Champions also have their pictures taken with the buyers after the sale. All the animals are raised by our local FFA or 4-H members as a part of their project work for the Fair.

Youth Style Revue

Date: Sunday, August 25th
Time: 2:00 - 2:30 PM
Location: Family Entertainment Tent
Details: The Youth Style Revue is a show where youth organization members model garments they have sewn. They then present them in a fashion revue for the audience. Items are judges on the exhibitor's choice of pattern, fabric, accessories, that are used to enhance his or her body type and personal needs.
All youth, that are with a youth organization, are encouraged participate!

Little Britches

Date: Sunday, August 25th, 2019
Time: 12:00 PM
Participant Age: Youth, ages 4 - 8 years old
Location: Jer Lang Show Palace
Entry Deadline: August 1st
We invite youth to participate in the Little Britches Dairy Showmanship exhibition. These young individuals are invited to show calves born on or after March 1st, 2019. For more information, please click HERE.
Calves may be brought to the Fairgrounds the morning of the Little Britches Show and will be released at the same time as Open Class entries (Monday afternoon). After a short interview, all young showmen will receive participant ribbons and donated prizes. Don't forget your camera!

4-H Shooting Sports - Live Archery Competition

Date: Sunday, August 25th, 2019
Time: 1:30 PM
Location: Hockey Building
Members of Wood County 4-H and Central Wisconsin 4-H Shooting Sports showcase their skills with bow and arrow. Youth must be enrolled in these programs to participate.
The first event is a demonstration of skills and knowledge. Youth are judged on their shooting line etiquette, demonstration of safe shooting form and behaviors, and their knowledge of the archery competition rules. Youth compete with all sorts of equipment from bare recurve bow all the way up to competition-rigged compound bows.
The second event is the exciting Eliminator. Youth go head to head to be the last archer standing as the shooting distances grow and the target sizes shrink.

Dates: Every day during the Fair.

Train Depot: The Train Depot can be found by the Wonders of Wisconsin Tent next to the Junior Fair Building.
Details: Enjoy a ride on the Round Barn Express and check out the Fair in style!
The Round Barn Express will be available for rides throughout the Fairgrounds Park during the Fair, and cost $1 to ride. The Round Barn Express is Sponsored by the Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Pedal Tractor Races

Date: Saturday, August 24th, 2019
Registration: 12:00 - 12:30 PM
Race Time: 12:30 PM
Location: Hockey Building
Details: The Central Wisconsin State Fair is excited to bring back the Children's Pedal Tractor Races! Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each age division and are sponsored by Chili Implement.
There will be three age divisions:
  • 4 & Under
  • 5 & 6
  • 7 & 8

Dress-A-Cow Contest
